We are seeking a committed, values-driven individual to serve as Board Member – Legal and Policy Affairs. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute strategic oversight and expert guidance on legal compliance and policy direction within a dynamic civil society organization. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal oversight and ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
• Advise the board on matters related to governance, risk, and compliance.
• Lead or support the development and review of internal policies.
• Contribute to board-level decisions, strategic planning, and organizational development.

Qualifications: 

• A degree in Law or a related field; legal practice experience is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in policy development and legal advisory, ideally within the non-profit or public interest sector.
• Commitment to gender equity, human rights, and civil society values.
• Prior board or governance experience is an asset.
